How to Use the Lesson Book
Each lesson begins by showing the Lesson Book with tabs on the right. If you click on one of the tabs, it will open directly to that section of the book.
Below the Lesson Book you'll see several buttons.
Click on the audio button to start a narration of the page. Controls similar to a CD or tape player let you control the audio: stop, fast forward or reverse, play/pause. Click the stop button to stop the narration.
Click on the dictionary button to display a dictionary which contains a thesaurus, glossary, and Spanish translation. From the dictionary page, a click on stop closes the dictionary. You can also access the dictionary with a double click on any word you would like to look up (including words inside the dictionary itself). Click on the calculator button to display the calculator. A click on OFF closes it.
Click on the exercises button to open the Exercise Book, an interactive workbook which contains practice and challenge questions. The Exercise Book is only available from the Lesson Book chapters.
Click on the progress button to see a summary of your progress in the book you are studying.
Note the page turning arrows in the lower right corner. Click on the forward or backward arrow depending on which way you want to turn the page.
As you page through the Lesson Book, watch for video instruction pages. Click on any picture with a video camera icon below it to watch the video for that page. When the video opens controls will appear at the bottom of the video window.
On some pages you'll see still photos which do not have video controls. If the cursor changes to a when over the photo, you can click on the photo to enlarge it. This is helpful if you have to answer a question using the information in the photo.
At the upper left corner of the page is an outline of a bookmark. This is used to save your place within a lesson. Clicking on the bookmark outline places the bookmark. Clicking on the top of the bookmark returns you to the marked page. |
