Algebra Parts One and Two include 24 total lessons of intermediate level algebra. The host of this series, Sol Garfunkel, Ph.D., introduces each lesson and explains each algebraic concept.
Each lesson demonstrates real-world situations in which algebraic concepts are required to solve problems. The video vignettes and Sol’s explanations are followed by indepth discussion using text and graphics to ensure understanding.
In addition, practice and challenge exercises reinforce each concept with realistic problems requiring the correct application of algebraic techniques. An appendix in each lesson extends the discussion beyond normal instruction.
Included in the algebra series is a very sophisticated online graphing calculator, which is a tool for entering algebraic expressions and graphing them.
Learners who have enough preparation will benefit dramatically from this series' engaging instruction. This series is not recommended for persons who lack a background in basic algebra.
To fully appreciate the breadth of the curriculum, please review the objectives for the two series.
